ÉCU FILM FESTIVAL / MUCH MORE THAN A SCRIPT COMPETITION
In 2007, ÉCU Film Festival introduced ‘Much More than a Script Competition’ among the categories of the Festival. As part of the Film Festival, the script competition focuses on independent screenplays, that is scripts that aren’t aimed at mainstream Hollywood film markets.
Last year, the Short Script prize was handed to Tannaz Hazemi and James Grimaldi’s heart-wrenching drama, “Before The Bomb”. Tannaz has since taken the story from script to screen and returned triumphantly into the 2015 Official Selection.
EuroIFC wants to keep improving the project launched by the Festival, hoping to inspire filmmakers and find a way to take more stories from script to screen.
